Changing the face of business lending

Scroll to find out more

Welcome to
Bank North

Sourcing finance for your business can be a painful experience.  We’re here to change that.

Welcome to the UK’s newest, most exciting SME bank, fresh from receiving our bank licence (authorised with restrictions) from the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Bank North is unique.  We’re launching the UK’s first truly regional bank of the modern era.  Our model is decentralised, meaning every contact you have will be with people in your region, who want to get to know you and your business.  We call this our Pod model, where lending is structured, decisioned and delivered by our regional expert teams.  No hiding behind a ‘digital front end’, no faceless decision making, no contact centres.  We make quick decisions, we stand by them and we deliver finance tailored to your business, at the pace you need.

Our Manchester Pod team is in place to start lending in October 2021. We commence roll out across the UK in 2022.

We’ve invested £millions developing our seamlessly-integrated, cloud-native banking platform, but that sits quietly behind the scenes.  Its sole purpose is to help our people do one thing really well – deliver efficient, tailored, competitive finance to the UK’s SMEs.
